White Rabbit Japan is working to elevate ecommerce between Japanese sellers and overseas buyers. At the core of this effort is our White Rabbit Express and Blackship products. White Rabbit Express makes buying from Japan hassle-free for tens of thousands of people and businesses worldwide. Blackship makes it faster and easier for businesses and individuals to forward packages from Japan.

Buyers play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer-focused experiences. This will include a mix of purchasing, customer support, user operations, and relationship building. You'll be an advocate for customer needs and work closely with Engineering and Product teams to push the customer experience forward.

As a Buyer at White Rabbit you:

  • Purchase from Japanese online shops and marketplaces (and bidding on auctions) with speed and impeccable attention to detail.

  • Keep customers in the loop regarding order status (in English) and following-up with vendors (in Japanese) to ensure positive outcomes

  • Create and sustain excellent relationships with our customers

  • Work with engineering and product to squash bugs, improve processes/tools and improve the user experience

  • Assist customers with how to use our product

  • You'll need to understand how our product works in detail. White Rabbit Express is a complex operation with lots of moving pieces, so this is harder than it might seem.

You might be a fit for this role if:

  • Be able to read Japanese sufficiently to understand product descriptions, sales policies, conditions, and clauses

  • Have reading and writing ability in English and Japanese to communicate with vendors and customers

  • Be committed to exceptional customer service

  • Be comfortable learning complex, technical products

  • Stay calm and collected while handling multiple, time-sensitive responsibilities

  • Apply creativity in dealing with difficult challenges, help develop automation to improve your productivity

  • Show kindness in the face of unpleasantness (our customers are generally really great, but they can get passionate when it comes to the things they want to buy)

  • Previous startup experience and a passion for growth is a big plus!
